🌟 Ajon Trust & Goonj Reach Flood-Affected Families in Bordoloni Block, Dhemaji Dhemaji, Assam

Over the past month, severe flooding has affected several villages in the Bordoloni Block of Dhemaji District, including Ratuwa, Phulbari, and Lalukia Gaon. Hundreds of families have faced immense challenges due to inundated homes, damaged crops, loss of livelihoods, and limited access to essential services.In response to this humanitarian crisis, Ajon Trust, in collaboration with Goonj, has been actively visiting the affected villages to assess the situation, stand with the communities, and extend support to those most in need.Our team has interacted with flood-affected families, listened to their concerns, and documented their immediate and long-term needs. Through this collaborative effort, we are working to ensure that relief reaches vulnerable households while also helping communities recover with dignity.The resilience shown by the people of Ratuwa, Phulbari, and Lalukia has been inspiring. Despite difficult conditions, community members continue to support one another, demonstrating remarkable strength and hope.We express our sincere gratitude to the Goonj team, local volunteers, community leaders, and everyone who has contributed their time and resources during this difficult period. Their partnership has strengthened our ability to reach remote communities and provide timely assistance.As the floodwaters recede, the journey toward recovery continues. Ajon Trust remains committed to standing beside affected families by supporting rehabilitation efforts, restoring livelihoods, and ensuring that children can continue their education without interruption.We invite individuals, organizations, and well-wishers to join us in rebuilding lives and strengthening the resilience of flood-affected communities in Dhemaji.Together, we can bring hope where it is needed most.

🌟 Piggery Training conducted by Ajon Trust

Ajon Trust conducted a Skill Upgradation Training on Scientific Piggery Farming for Self Help Group (SHG) members at Naharbari, Gejik Gero, on 2nd November 2025, in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation. The session was facilitated by Veterinary MAITRI, Mr. Rameswar Pegu.

We invited all parents to participate in activities aimed at improving the school environment, including cleaning the campus, repairing the school road, and planting trees. After the successful completion of these tasks, GOONJ showed its appreciation by providing a bag of clothes to each parent as a token of support.

🌟 Empowering women at Naharbari

In collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, we're proud to announce a new initiative at Naharbari focused on empowering women from the Mising community. This program provides essential knowledge and training on scientific piggery farming to women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs).For the Mising community, pig farming is a vital source of income. However, a high mortality rate among pigs has been a significant challenge, directly impacting the community's financial stability.Our primary objective is to equip these women with the skills and knowledge to reduce pig mortality rates. Through scientific methods in housing, feeding, and disease prevention, we aim to improve the health and productivity of their livestock. By strengthening this key livelihood, we are not just helping to raise healthier pigs, we are helping to build a more secure future for the Mising community in Naharbari.
